NationaL daY
HappY naTionaL day to one and all!!
I guess since this IS a public holiday, there shld be a reason to be happy yah? Well anyway, public holidays seem to have no meaning to me anymore. I mean i practically work 7days a week. No complains there la. But yah, so PH doesnt really mean much actually.
Scary thing was that i didnt even realise yesterday was the eve of national day till i was making my way to work and saw plenty of students wearing red.
Man, how long was it since i last said the pledge or even sing the national anthem!
I sooOOo miss the atmosphere in sch that came along with national day or any other PH like chinese new year etc etc.. Love the performances, the mini-concerts,the buzz of events and the freedom of wearing casual!! hey, wearing casual was a big thing back then k! Esp so because everyday u wear tt boring ol' uniform.
So seeing those students in their red tops yesterday on the way to work sure did bring back some memories! Remember how some would wear their best just to 'show off' their wardrobe. ahh..memories~
Also realised something else that if said, will probably create a lot of displeasure in many ppl. But heck, im still gonna say it. Here goes:
Being the eve of PH, the students had half day. And everywhere i went, i was surrounded by rowdy, noisy kids! I mean like even though they were standing NEXT to each other, they just HAD to talk sooo loud! Even hard-of-hearing me can hear each word loud and clear!
It was definately irritating! Seems as if they're rubbing it in for the rest of us. The rest who does NOT have a half day off. Bloody pesky kids!
Maybe that's why sch hours are soooOO long these days. Better to keep those noisemakers contained somewhere where they wun irritate the rest of us moody people.
Perhaps that is also why teaching is such a noble profession.
Haizz...9th august. Somehow every year this day, i'll remember a particular person. A person who brings back nice nice memories. A person who i would like to meet again even though the feelings have changed. hehhe..
Hmm..anyway still prefer the march-in song of 2003 compared to this year's.
'Foward. We're marching foward.......'
(hhehe..cant remember the rest of the lyrics le. Jo, ash..u guys recall? hehe)
